Do I need an API key?

No. You add the server URL to your AI tool and sign in once with your Condense account in your browser.

Is there anything to install?

No. Condense MCP is a remote server, so you point your AI tool at its URL. Your AI tool must support remote MCP servers and OAuth sign-in.

Which AI tools can I use?

Setup steps are on Connect your AI tool for Claude Code, Claude Desktop and claude.ai, Cursor, GitHub Copilot in VS Code and in the CLI, Gemini CLI and OpenAI Codex CLI. Any other AI tool that supports remote MCP servers and OAuth can connect with the same URL.

Can it change things, or only read?

deploy_connector can deploy a connector. The other tools read. Your Condense role must allow the deployment, and an administrator can block it by setting the environment to Strict read-only. You can also clear it when you approve a connection.

Can I connect more than one AI tool?

Yes. Each AI tool is its own connection, and you can edit or disconnect each one separately on the AI Tools page.

Can one connection read more than one environment?

No. You choose one environment on the approval page, and the connection reads that environment. To use another environment, connect again and choose it.

Why does my colleague’s AI tool use different tools from mine?

What an AI tool can use depends on what that person approved, what the administrator allows in the environment, and that person’s Condense role. Any of the three can differ.

What happens if my role changes?

Your AI tool inherits your Condense permissions, so what it can do follows your role.

Who can see my connections?

You see your own on the AI Tools page. Administrators see every connection in the organization in AI Access Management.

What happens when an administrator pauses or disconnects my AI tool?

A paused AI tool stays in your list and cannot be used until an administrator resumes it. A disconnected AI tool is removed, and you connect it again yourself. If your access was revoked or paused, you may need an administrator to restore it first.

How do I sign in again?

Run your AI tool’s sign-in step again. See Verify and reconnect.

Why is get_all_workspaces always on?

Your AI tool calls it on its own to find your workspace. It cannot be disabled or paused, and you do not need to call it yourself.

What are the usage limits?

Usage is limited per organization, so everyone in the organization shares the same limits. There is a 5-hour limit that resets every 5 hours, and a daily limit that resets every day. See Usage and limits.

Where can I see how much has been used?

The AI Tools page shows your organization’s usage for the last 5 hours and for today.

Where do I manage Condense MCP in the Console?

Under Condense MCP in the navigation: AI Tools for your own connections, and AI Access Management and AI Governance for administrators.
